The American Center for International Policy Studies is a “Think Tank
with a Difference.” Several features of the organization allow it to
stand out from the crowd:
AMCIPS offers analytical studies on critical international policy
issues, but its stance is not a predetermined ideological one. It is
neither conservative nor liberal, and it may sponsor serious study on
the same issue from both perspectives. Its core values will remain firm,
but it is open to serious analytical work from any source.
AMCIPS does not simply produce papers, sponsor conferences or hold
seminars (though it does all three). It has an advocacy program and
legal aid program for refugees, and victims of oppression who need
assistance. This shows that we put our money where our heart is. Rarely
do analytical organizations also engage in direct community action.
AMCIPS is building a generation of people who care about International
Issues. Globalization, for good or ill, is the future. Globalization,
for good or ill, affects not only corporations and governments, but it
affects all of us. Globalization, for good or ill, affects not only
nations’ and capitals but it affects small regional governments as well.
People need training to understand the processes that Globalization
unleashes and AMCIPS’ sponsored educational programs such as our
International Policy Studies seminars provide that training for those
working in global trade and human rights issues to those who are
interested in learning more about public policy and how it affects their
daily lives. Few Think Tanks offer as many services, much less the range
of educational opportunities AMCIPS offers.
AMCIPS offers a unique package of analytical work, advocacy and
educational programs that compliments other societal and political
institutions and broadens the base for involvement among groups engaged
in international affairs.
